Connector

A connector of upper contact type for an FPC comprising a cover housing constituted of synthetic resin alone. The housing includes first contacts and second contacts alternately arranged in parallel on a line. Each of the first contacts has an elastic arm coming into contact with an upper contact point of FPC when the cover housing is closed. On the other hand, each of the second contacts has a tuning-fork-shaped contact constituted of a pair of a short arm and a long arm, the short arm coming into contact with the upper contact point of the FPC so that the tuning-fork-shaped contact may exert a coupled force on the FPC when the cover housing is closed. With such a configuration, this connector reduces deformation of the cover housing while eliminating use of any reinforcing metal member in the cover housing.

Tone generator control apparatus and program for electronic wind instrument

InactiveUS20070017346A1Readily simulate octave-specific playing stylesEasy to implementElectrophonic musical instrumentsSelection arrangementsJet flowOctave
Flow velocity sensor and a length sensor are provided on or near an edge of the lip plate which the air jet from the embouchure hole impinges against. Jet flow velocity Ue at the edge and a jet-blowout-outlet-to-edge distance d are detected by the sensors. Jet transfer time τe is calculated by an equation of τe=d / Ue, and a jet traveling angle θe′ is calculated by an equation of θe′=2πfso1×τe (where fso1 represents a frequency of a tone to be generated). When θe′ has decreased to π / 2 during tone generation in a primary mode, the mode changes to a secondary mode to raise the pitch of the currently generated tone by one octave. When θe′ has increased to 3π / 4 during tone generation in the secondary mode, the mode changes to the primary mode to lower the pitch of the currently generated tone by one octave.

Perpendicular magnetic recording head with photoresist dam between write coil and air bearing surface

A magnetic recording head for use in perpendicular magnetic recording having a design that allows the write coil to be manufactured by a damascene process for increased coil pitch and reduced coil resistance. The magnetic write head includes a photoresist dam structure that allows a hard baked photoresist to be formed that does not extend to the air bearing surface (ABS). Since the photoresist dam prevents the hard baked photoresist from reaching the ABS, the damascene process, in which the hard baked photoresist remains in the finished write head, can be used to produce the write head. The use of such a damascene process advantageously allows the space between the coil turns to be reduced, which maximizes the number of turns that can be used and also maximizes the number width to which the coil turns can be constructed, thereby minimizing the electrical resistance of the write coil.
