The invention relates to a novel elevated circular platform for detecting animal anxiety and an application method thereof. An anxiety model is prepared by utilizing the mental conflict between the fear for high altitude and the exploration instinct of animals. According to the sizes of the animals, the circular platform with the certain diameter is prepared and placed at the corresponding height, the radius of the platform is divided into a plurality of equal parts, and therefore the platform is divided into a plurality of continuous areas. The safety is sequentially reduced from the circle center to the periphery and forms continuous distribution. After the animals are placed in the central area, the standing time of the animals in each area within the specific time is analyzed, the animals with the lower anxiety level will explore for a longer time in the area with the low safety, and the animals with the high anxiety level will explore for a longer time in the area with the high safety. The result obtained by testing the platform through the genetically modified animals shows that the elevated platform and the method are more sensitive in the aspect of testing the animal anxiety level compared with a classical elevated plus maze, operation is easier and more convenient, and the influence on the animal stress level is smaller.
