Sunscreen compositions are provided for protecting skin from sun-induced damage comprising (i) at least one UV-B or UV-A/UV-B sunblock active, (ii) at least one meroterpene and (iii) a dermatological acceptable carrier. Preferably, the sunblock active will be a UV-A/UV-B sunblock active or said sunscreen compositions will further comprise at least one UV-A sunblock active.
