The diphenylpicrylphenylhydrazine (DPPH) scavenging activity of the extract is 7.9 and 7.8 times of that of glutathione, and the oxygen radical absorbing capacity of the extract is 7.0 and 6.2 times of that of the glutathione. The extract is good in inhibitory activity on xanthine oxidase and can be used for preparing antioxidants, gout suppressants and health-care products.
