This invention discloses a combined
acupuncture and medication method for treating cervicogenic vertigo, belonging to the field of
traditional Chinese medicine clinical treatment technology. The method comprises two parts:
oral administration of a specific herbal composition and standardized
acupuncture knife therapy. The herbal composition consists of
Pinellia ternata,
Gastrodia elata,
Uncaria rhynchophylla, Poria cocos, Citrus reticulata peel, stir-fried
Atractylodes macrocephala,
Zingiber officinale, Haliotis diversicolor,
Pueraria lobata,
Cinnamomum cassia,
Corydalis yanhusuo,
Ziziphus jujuba,
Lycopodium clavatum,
Spatholobus suberectus,
Pheretima aspergillum,
Chaenomeles speciosa, and
Paeonia lactiflora in specific dosages, which are then sterilized, preserved, dried, pulverized, and sieved to form capsules for
oral administration. The
acupuncture knife therapy targets Baihui (GV20), the midpoint of the neck, the left point of the neck, the right point of the neck, and the articular process points. This invention has the effects of resolving
phlegm and relieving wind, strengthening the
spleen and removing dampness, calming liver yang, relieving exterior cold, and relaxing tendons and vessels, far exceeding the effects of
Western medicine treatment alone. It is most effective for the
phlegm-dampness obstruction type. It has the advantages of being safe with no side effects, treating both the symptoms and the
root cause, having a low recurrence rate, a high degree of
standardization, and a wide range of applications. It improves the
pathological state of cervicogenic vertigo from the root, embodying the concept of preventive
medicine in
traditional Chinese medicine, and has significant clinical application value.
