The detection method disclosed by the invention comprises the following steps: dividing the tire into multiple sectors; respectively shooting the tire surface section and tire side of each sector before and after pressurization; and analyzing the obtained picture, thereby judging the conditions of the breakage, actual bulge or air bubbles of the steel wire in the tire. The detecting instrument disclosed by the invention adopts a pressurized mode toload; and compared with the prior art, the detecting instrument is convenient to use, has the advantage of simpleness in operation and can be better suitable for the outdoors or the condition that the tire is installed on a vehicle.
