Method for drying a coating on a substrate and reducing mottle

An apparatus and method for evaporating a coating solvent from a coating on a substrate and for minimizing the formation of mottle. The coating is heated with a first drying gas at no higher than a first heat transfer rate. The first heat transfer rate is created by a first heat transfer coefficient and a first temperature difference between the first coating temperature and the first drying gas temperature. The first heat transfer rate causes maximum evaporation of the coating solvent yet insignificant formation of mottle when the coating is at the first coating thickness and the first coating viscosity.

Single poly-emitter PNP using DWELL diffusion in a BiCMOS technology

A method of forming a bipolar transistor device, and more particularly a vertical poly-emitter PNP transistor, as part of a BiCMOS type manufacturing process is disclosed. The formation of the PNP transistor during a CMOS / DMOS fabrication process requires merely one additional mask to facilitate formation of a very small emitter in a portion of an N-type surface layer of a double diffused well (DWELL). Unlike conventional PNP transistors, a separate mask is not required to establish the base of the transistor as the transistor base is formed from a portion of the double diffused well and the DWELL includes a P-type body layer formed via implantation through the same opening in the same mask utilized to establish the N-type surface layer of the double diffused well. The base is also thin thus improving the transistor's frequency and gain.

Method of Polyarylene Sulfide Precipitation

ActiveUS20160244569A1Good particle integrityLittle fine formationDownstream processingProduct characteristics
A method for forming a polyarylene sulfide is described. The method can include a multi-step cooling and precipitation process in which the cooling rate of the solution that carries the polymer is decreased during a portion of the overall cooling. This slower cooling period can encompass at least a portion of the period during which the polymer precipitates from the solution. The precipitation process can form polyarylene sulfide particles with good particle integrity and a narrow particle size distribution, which can reduce fines and improve downstream processing and final product characteristics.
