The embodiment of the invention provides an unmanned ship riverway garbage identification method and system, and the method comprises the steps: receiving a video image transmitted by an unmanned ship, and enabling the video image to be collected and obtained by a binocular stereo vision camera arranged on the unmanned ship; uploading the acquired video image to a cloud processing center through a5G high-speed network for real-time image processing, and performing feature point matching on a left-eye water surface image and a right-eye water surface image contained in the video image to obtain a feature point set, wherein the feature point set comprises at least one target feature point, and identifying a graph corresponding to the target feature point in the video image as river channelgarbage; and obtaining depth-of-field information of the river channel garbage based on the parameters of the binocular stereo vision camera. Compared with the prior art, the method for identifying the river channel garbage by utilizing human experience is more accurate; the riverway garbage can be further accurately positioned on the basis of identifying the riverway garbage, so that distance measuring equipment such as a radar is prevented from being mounted on the unmanned ship.
