The invention provides an electricity-saving satellite positioning method. The electricity-saving satellite positioning method comprises the following steps that (1) a positioning unit and a timing unit are provided; (2) the positioning unit is started to enter a positioning mode, so that positioning is started, and the timing unit is started; (3) when the positioning unit successfully conducts positioning or the time of the positioning mode of the timing unit is up, the positioning unit is switched to an electricity-saving mode from the positioning mode; (4) after the positioning unit enters the electricity-saving mode, the positioning unit stops positioning, and when the set time of the electrify-saving mode of the timing unit is up, the positioning unit is switched to the positioning mode from the electricity-saving mode, wherein the time of the positioning mode is shorter than the set time of the electricity-saving mode; (5) after the positioning unit enters the positioning mode, the step (3) is executed again. By the adoption of the electricity-saving satellite positioning method, a provided satellite positioning module works in the positioning state within a short time, and most of the time, the satellite positioning module works in the electricity-saving state; in addition, switching between the electricity-saving mode and the positioning mode is controlled through interrupt signals, control is orderly and not prone to errors, and long-term periodical positioning is facilitated.
