In-vivo interstitial antennas

Disclosed are in-vivo interstitial antennas (IVIAs) for thermal treatment and deactivation of tumors by means of microwaves. An IVIA comprises a microwave monopole antenna (MMA) and a medical catheter, and the MMA is inserted into the medical catheter to form the IVIA. The MMA comprises coaxial cable and three types of capacitors. The coaxial cable consists of first and second conductors and a first insulator, and only the first conductor extends less than a quarter wavelength. The first capacitor is located around the end of the extended first conductor and includes the second insulator and the third conductor. The second and third capacitors are located between the first capacitor and the apertures of the MMAs and have about same function. Because of arbitrarily changed input impedance of the first capacitor, almost perfect matching can be achieved and desirable temperature distributions can be obtained due to the second and third capacitors.

The invention discloses a dual channel microwave power detection system based on a microelectronic mechanical microwave power sensor and a preparation method thereof. The system has the advantages of simple structure, large measurement range and no direct current power consumption. The system is based on a gallium arsenide substrate. A coplanar waveguide transmission line (A), a thermoelectric MEMS microwave power sensor (B) and an MEMS clamped beam capacitor type microwave power sensor (C) are designed on the substrate. When the power of a microwave signal is small, the thermoelectric MEMS microwave power sensor carries out detection according to the one-to-one corresponding relationship between the thermopile output voltage and the microwave power. When the power of the microwave signal is large, the MEMS clamped beam capacitor type microwave power sensor carries out detection. A square mass block is designed on an MEMS clamped beam above the coplanar waveguide transmission line. The area with the coplanar waveguide transmission line is increased, and at the same time the weight of the center position of the MEMS clamped beam is increased. Static power is more likely to cause large deformation of the MEMS clamped beam, and the system sensitivity is improved.

The invention relates to a series capacitor type high-voltage direct current breaker and a control method thereof. The breaker comprises direct current breaker units which are connected in series, and each direct current breaker unit comprises a change-over switch, a switching circuit and an energy consumption device which are connected in parallel. The change-over switch adopts a mechanical switch, and the switching circuit adopts a resistance capacitance branch circuit, and the energy consumption device adopts a lightning arrester. The high-voltage direct current breaker is connected with a control circuit, and the mechanical switch detects failure current and acts at the T1moment, and transfers the failure current into the resistance capacitance branch circuit. The failure current charges a capacitor, and controls switching-on and switching-off of the mechanical switch. Before the mechanical switch witches off at the T2 moment, charging voltage on two ends of the capacitor throughout is lower than arcing voltage at fractures of the mechanical switch. When the voltage on two ends of the capacitor reaches operation voltage of the lightning arrester, the control circuit controls the lightning arrester to act at the T3 moment so that energy can be released from the lightning arrester. According to the series capacitor type high-voltage direct current breaker and the control method thereof, the mechanical switch does not have electric arc, non-arc breaking off is realized, energy is released through utilization of the lightning arrester, quick extinguishing of the electric arc is realized, and the failure current is cut off.

The electronic device further comprises a temperature varying means (RES) being thermally coupled to the tunable capacitor for providing a temperature of the dielectric (FEL) causing a predetermined capacitance of the tunable capacitor (CST). The invention, which relies on the idea of varying temperature to vary a capacitance of a capacitor stack, provides an alternative tunable capacitor type for the known types. Advantageous embodiments feature high-tuning ratio, small device area, and stable capacitance value in case the temperature is well controlled. The invention further relates to a semiconductor device comprising the electronic device in accordance with the invention, to an electronic circuit comprising such electronic device, and to a method of manufacturing such electronic device.

The switched capacitor DC-DC converter comprises an output sampling branch, a dead area control module for generating the dead area and outputting multiunit clock signals which has the same frequency as the input clock, a switched capacitor array module for receiving multiunit clock signals which are not overlapped and sent by the dead area control module, an error amplifier for receiving the voltage signal from the output sampling branch and the reference voltage signals, and a voltage controlled oscillator for receiving the output voltage signals of the error amplifier and for outputting the clock signals with corresponding frequency. The voltage controlled oscillator sends the clock signals to the dead control module. The frequency variation of the clock signals is in proportion to the output voltage variation of the error amplifier. Reforming wet-tantalum capacitors in implantable medical devices

Miniature defibrillators and cardioverters detect abnormal heart rhythms and automatically apply electrical therapy to restore normal heart function. Critical to this function, aluminum-electrolytic capacitors store and deliver life-saving bursts of electric charge to the heart. This type of capacitor requires regular “reform” to preserve its charging efficiency over time. Because reform expends valuable battery energy, manufacturers developed wet-tantalum capacitors, which are generally understood not to require reform. Yet, the present inventors discovered through extensive study that wet-tantalum capacitors exhibit progressively worse charging efficiency over time. Accordingly, to address this problem, the inventors devised unique reform techniques for wet-tantalum capacitors. One exemplary technique entails charging wet-tantalum capacitors to a voltage equal to about 90% of their rated voltage and allowing the charge to dissipate through system leakage for a period of time, before discharging through a non-therapeutic load.

The invention discloses a high-power-factor LED (Light Emitting Diode) constant-current driving power supply without an electrolytic capacitor. The high-power-factor LED constant-current driving power supply comprises an alternating-current input power supply vin, a bridge rectifying circuit, a main switch tube, an energy storing capacitor, a freewheel diode, an auxiliary circuit, a transformer, a rectifying circuit and a filter capacitor. The high-power-factor LED constant-current driving power supply is mainly technically characterized in that: a flyback converter topology is adopted, and working in a discontinuous current mode is performed, so that power factor calibration is realized automatically, and a high input power factor is obtained; and meanwhile, the energy storing capacitor is arranged in a main circuit, redundant energy is stored in the energy storing capacitor when the input power pin is higher than output power Po, and insufficient energy is provided by the energy storing capacitor when the input power pin is lower than output power Po, so that constant working current can be provided for an LED. Meanwhile, voltage pulsation on the energy storing capacitor is high, and the capacitance values of a needed energy storing capacitor and filter capacitor are low, so that other types of capacitors of non-electrolytic-capacitor type such as ceramic capacitors and the like can be adopted.

Segmental capacitor type continuous liquid level sensor

The invention relates to a segmental capacitor type continuous liquid level sensor, and in particular relates to a capacitor type sensor for measuring continuous liquid level. Inner electrodes, outer electrodes, a connection bush, coupling screws, soldering flakes, a cable and a digital processor are arranged in the sensor, wherein the outer electrodes are divided into an odd group and an even group; the soldering flakes are riveted on the outer electrodes through rivets, used for connecting the cable, and connected in series with the odd group and the even group respectively; the outer electrodes are sequentially connected together through the connection bush and fixed by use of the coupling screws; the inner electrodes and the outer electrodes are concentrically mounted to form an annular capacitor, namely the segmental capacitor; and the signals of the segmental capacitor sensor are processed by the digital processor which outputs the liquid level height. The sensor provided by the invention has the advantages of high measurement resolution, wide measurement range, fast dynamic response and the like, realizes automatic calibration and saves zero setting.
