According to the production method, a blank is prepared into the wire rod through heating, hot rolling and stelmor cooling, the carbon content of the blank is larger than or equal to 0.45%, and the soaking section temperature of the heating procedure ranges from 1,140 DEG C to 1,250 DEG C; the hot rolling procedure comprises rough rolling, intermediate rolling, pre-finish rolling, finish rolling and spinning in sequence, and the initial rolling temperature is 1,030-1,100 DEG C; the spinningtemperature is 900-950 DEG C; the hot rolling procedure further comprises water cooling before finish rolling with the water flow being 1,200-1,800 L/min and 400-600 L/min in sequence, water cooling in finish rolling with the water flow being 20-100 L/min and the water pressure being 0-0.3 bar, and water cooling after finish rolling with the water flow being 1,200-1,800 L/min, 400-600 L/min and 900-1,200 L/min in sequence; and in the Stelmor cooling procedure, the speed of a roller way at an inlet section is 0.6-0.8 m/s, the first one or two fans and heat preservation covers are stopped, the continuous 6-13 fans and heat preservation covers behinds are started, all the fans and heat preservation covers behinds are stopped, and the air volume of the started fans is 50-100%. The obtained wire rod is excellent in structure and performance, the surface oxide scale is controlled, the bubble problem is avoided, and the wire rod is suitable for mechanical husking.
