Method and apparatus for sealing medicinal capsules

A method of sealing parts of a plastic capsule by forming a weld seam in an overlapping region of the parts of the capsule, wherein the capsule comprises a capsule cap having an open end and a capsule body having an open end, the method comprising:
    • (a) holding the capsule cap and the capsule body in a capsule holder comprising a first holding part and a second holding part which can be guided synchronously with one another, wherein the first holding part interlockingly surrounds the capsule cap and the second holding part interlockingly surrounds the capsule body;
    • (b) closing the capsule holder holding the capsule cap and the capsule body so that the open end of the capsule cap and the open end of the capsule body form a sealed cavity therebetween and form an overlapping region, wherein the overlapping region is not covered by the capsule holder, to obtain a closed capsule; and
    • (c) welding the closed capsule using an energy beam of hot gas or laser light on the overlapping region by forming the weld seam thereon. The capsules produced by the process according to the invention are disposable capsules and preferably contain a single dose of a pharmaceutical formulation in the form of a powder or liquid suitable for inhalation and are suitable, by their form and function, for use in powder inhalers or liquid nebulizers for producing aerosols. Aerosols thus produced can be inhaled, for example, in order to administer a pharmaceutical formulation to the lungs.

Content based approach to extending the form and function of a business intelligence system

A business intelligence (BI) system which includes the ability to extend its functionality outside of the project life cycle by means of specific content. Complex multidimensional queries are interpreted as trees of atomic sub-expressions that are combined in a parse-tree-like structure to form the overall query. Each sub tree is valid in isolation when provided with the proper context. Any sub tree can be an expression template, stored as application content, which at generation time uses simple text substitution with instance specific parameters to produce multidimensional expression syntax. The system includes a sophisticated type system and semantic layer that hides the user from the complexities inherent in working with OLAP databases. A business intelligence expert can provide type and semantic cues for each expression template, held as content. The content expression templates are then exposed in the application primarily through a context menu that is filtered for appropriateness, but also in an explorer tree, toolbars, menus and submenus. The functionality from a users perspective is integral to the application. An iterative processing capability to complement these expressions is provided by means of OLAP database stored procedures held as application content. Building on the above, workflow content allows business users to extend the application by creating expert-system-like guided analyses and processes. Of key significance to this innovation is the concept that the expression templates, stored procedures and workflows are application content, and therefore redistributable and unshackled from the classic software development lifecycle and the cost and expertise associated.

Homogeneous anion-exchange membrane and preparation method thereof

The invention discloses a homogeneous anion-exchange membrane and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method is characterized by comprising the following steps: performing a reaction to obtain a uniform membrane liquid by taking chloromethylated vinyl benzene, vinyl benzene or/and alkyl vinyl benzene as a monomer, divinylbenzene as a crosslinking agent, benzoyl peroxide or azodiisobutyronitrile as an initiator, and quaternized bromomethylated poly(1, 4-dimethyl-2, 6-phenylene oxide) or quaternized chloracetylated poly(1, 4-dimethyl-2, 6-phenylene oxide) as a high molecular enhancer; carrying out a reaction to obtain a uniform membrane liquid and drying the membrane to obtain the anion-exchange membrane. The anion-exchange membrane is high in exchange capacity, good in electrochemical property, uniform in structure and good in heat resistance. As a previous functionalized reaction process is adopted without post-treatment steps, the membrane liquid is uniform and easy to coat, so that the membrane-forming property is good. The anion-exchange membrane obtained is high in mechanical strength, and the ion exchange radicals are uniformly distributed. Products in different structural forms and functions can be obtained by adjusting the content of polymers, types of solvents, quaterisation temperature and time and degree of crosslinking and changing the types of supporters.

Device for culturing endothelial cells of myocardial bridge-mural coronary artery

The invention relates to a device for culturing endothelial cells of myocardial bridge-mural coronary artery, which is characterized in that a pair of myocardial bridge press block and simulated coronary artery is arranged in an airtight cavity, a motor drives the myocardial bridge press block to press the simulated coronary artery, and the outer part of the airtight cavity is connected with a proportional pressure-regulating constant-current stabilizer consisting of an air compressor, an air reservoir, a proportional pressure valve and a tank pressure sensor; after a periodic pulsatile flow produced by a heart pump passes through an energy accumulator, the liquid is divided into two branches, i.e. one branch of the fluid flows through a division to flow into a liquid storage tank and a constant temperature device after loading, and the other branch of the fluid flows through the airtight cavity to flow into the liquid storage tank and the constant temperature device after loading. Inthe invention, the endothelial cells are cultured in the pulsatile flow, so that the physiological environment of the coronary artery periodically oppressed by the myocardial bridge can be simulated,and the stress on the endothelial cells in the coronary artery can be independently adjusted relatively, therefore, the method of the invention provides an experimental means for studying the relation between the form and function of the endothelial cell and the proximal coronary atherosclerotic diseases in the presence of the myocardial bridge.
