This invention discloses a biocontrol agent of *Brevibacillus halotolerans* strain Z-9 and its application. *Brevibacillus halotolerans* Z-9, a new strain belonging to the genus *Brevibacillus*, was isolated from the rhizosphere soils of cotton and jujube in Tumushuke and Alar, Xinjiang. Strain Z-9 exhibits inhibition zone diameters of 23.32 mm and 25.68 mm against *Brevibacillus halotolerans*, the causal agent of jujube black spot, and cotton verticillium wilt, respectively. It contains catechol-type siderophores and is negative for isohydroxamic acid-type siderophores. The minimum As / Ar ratio is 0.682±0.021, indicating the highest iron production capacity. Field application of the biocontrol agent prepared using strain Z-9 reduced the disease indices of cotton verticillium wilt and jujube black spot to 7.14 and 8.34, respectively, achieving a control efficacy of 78.07%.
