The recovery method comprises the following steps of mixing the vanadium-containing neutralizing slag, concentrated sulfuric acid and water to obtain slurry; adding a reducing agent in the slurry, and performing reduction leaching; performing solid-liquid separation on the slurry obtained after reduction leaching, and cleaning filter residue with a sodium sulfate solution to obtain a vanadium-containing leaching solution and calcium-rich slag; adding ammonium sulfate in the vanadium-containing leaching solution,regulating the pH value of the leaching solution with ammonia water, performing cooling crystallization, and performing solid-liquid separation to obtain an ammonium alum crystal and a neutralizationsolution; and performing counter-current extraction, counter-current back extraction, upflow regeneration and counter-current washing on the neutralization solution, thereby obtaining a high-purity vanadyl sulfate solution.
