The invention discloses hydroxyl terminated polyester resin used for a powder coating, and belongs to the technical field of polymers. The hydroxyl terminated polyester resin is prepared from the following raw materials in parts: 30-45 parts of a polyhydric alcohol, 45-55 parts of an aromatic polybasic acid, 0.01-2 parts of a branching agent, 0.1-0.15 part of an esterification catalyst, 0.1-0.15 part of an antioxidant, 0.01-0.2 part of an inorganic pigment, and 0.2-0.3 part of a curing accelerant.
