The color-retaining finishing method of the jean fabric comprises the following steps of S1, carrying out acid treatment on the jean fabric; S2, carrying out drying treatment on the jean fabric obtained in the step S1; S3, preparing the microcapsule structure, wherein the microcapsule structure is composed of a wrapping wall and a color retaining solution contained in the wrapping wall, the wrapping wall consists of paraffin and C5 resin, and the color retaining solution contains a water-based color fastness improver and water-based polyurethane; S4, mixing the microcapsule structure obtained in the step S3, resin, a slipping agent and a cross-linking agent to obtain a coating solution, and performing coating treatment on the jean fabric obtained in the step S2 by adopting the coating solution; and S5, performing baking treatment on the jean fabric obtained in the step S4. According to the invention, indigo dye of the jean fabric is covered with a double-layer film formed by the water-based color fastness improver and the resin, so that the color retaining effect of the jean fabric is further improved.
