A superconducting electrical machine has rotor and stator assemblies. A first rotor assembly is located to rotate within a stator assembly and is spaced from the stator assembly by an air gap. A second rotor assembly is located to rotate outside the stator assembly and is also spaced from the stator assembly by an air gap. The first and second rotor assemblies have at least one superconducting field winding. The superconducting field windings are formed from a High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) material such as BSCCO-2223 or YBCO, for example. The double rotor assembly configuration provides a new technical effect over conventional rotating superconducting machines having a single rotor assembly.

A positive side main contactor serving as a contact switching device on the positive side, which is connected between a positive electrode terminal of a battery pack and a high potential input terminal of an inverter, and a negative side main contactor serving as a contact switching device on the negative side, which is connected between a negative electrode terminal of the battery pack and a low potential input terminal of the inverter, are arranged so that moving contacts of these are moved forward and backward in directions that are different from each other, e.g. by 90 degrees. Thus, a situation in which the two main contactors are simultaneously turned ON upon external impact can be avoided, and consequently, it is possible to achieve the same impact resistance as was previously possible with a smaller spring force than was previously required. Therefore, it is possible, for example, to reduce the number of turns of the winding in an electromagnetic coil of each of the main contactors or to reduce the winding diameter. The size and the cost of the contact switching device are reduced while maintaining reliability.

System and Method for Estimating Cardiac Pressure Based on Cardiac Electrical Conduction Delays Using an Implantable Medical Device

Techniques are provided for estimating left atrial pressure (LAP) or other cardiac performance parameters based on measured conduction delays. In particular, LAP is estimated based interventricular conduction delays. Predetermined conversion factors stored within the device are used to convert the various the conduction delays into LAP values or other appropriate cardiac performance parameters. The conversion factors may be, for example, slope and baseline values derived during an initial calibration procedure performed by an external system, such as an external programmer. In some examples, the slope and baseline values may be periodically re-calibrated by the implantable device itself. Techniques are also described for adaptively adjusting pacing parameters based on estimated LAP or other cardiac performance parameters. Still further, techniques are described for estimating conduction delays based on impedance or admittance values and for tracking heart failure therefrom.

The problem of damage to a high-frequency power supply switch, caused by reflection of distributed capacitance of the secondary winding of the transformer, can be solved, the working frequency can reach 10-50kHz, the rated voltage of direct-current output is 72kv, and the rated output power is no lower than 100kW. The temperature rise in full-load continuous operation is less than 40 DEG C. Therefore, the high-power, high-frequency and high-voltage rectifier transformer is an ideal booster device for a high-voltage power supply of a large electrostatic precipitator.

An ignition apparatus includes a cylindrical core made from magnetically-permeable material and a C-shaped magnetic return path structure that is made from a stack of silicon steel laminations.
