The invention relates to a method for recovering N-acetyl-DL-methionine from N-acetyl-DL-methionine racemization waste liquid. The method comprises the steps as follows: (1) N-acetyl-D-methionine racemization mother liquor is adjusted through NaOH of 30 percent until the pH value ranges from 3 to 10; (2) N-acetyl-D-methionine racemization mother liquor the pH value of which is adjusted is decompressed and concentrated until the volume thereof is about a quarter to three-quarter of the original volume; (3) a lot of sodium chloride solids are separated out after decompressing concentration, andcan be removed through filtration when the temperature of mother liquor ranges from 20 to 80 DEG C; (4) filter liquor is pumped in a cooling kettle, the stirring is carried out, the temperature fallsto reach 0 to 30 DEG C, and sodium acetate trihydrate crystals are obtained through centrifugation; and (5) mother liquor without sodium acetate is adjusted through HCl of 30 percent until the pH value ranges from 1 to 3, the temperature falls to reach 5 to 7 DEG C, stirring is carried out, and N-acetyl-DL-methionine crystals are obtained through crystallization. The method has the advantages of high recovery rate and the like, is simple and convenient to operate, and is environmental-friendly. Through practical production calculation, the yield coefficient of active substances of N-acetyl-DL-methionine can reach more than 85 percent by adopting the method.
