The invention relates to a high temperature resistant
shear strength improving agent for a water-based
drilling fluid and a preparation method thereof in the field of
petroleum drilling working fluids. The high temperature resistant
shear strength improving agent for a water-based
drilling fluid comprises the following copolymerized components in percentage by weight: (1) 40%-80% of
monomer A; (2)10%-20% of
monomer B; (3) 5%-20% of
monomer C; (4) 5%-20% of monomer D, wherein the monomer A is at least one selected from
acrylamide, N, N-dimethylacrylamide, isobutyl
acrylamide and
acrylonitrile;the monomer B is selected from N-vinyl pyrrolidone; the monomer C is at least one selected from methacryloyloxyethyl trimethyl
ammonium chloride and dimethyl diallyl
ammonium chloride; and the monomer D is selected from amphiphilic macromolecular monomer C18PEGMA. The high temperature resistant
shear strength improving agent for a water-based
drilling fluid disclosed in the invention has good shear strength improving performance and good
temperature resistance, with the capability of resisting a temperature of up to 150 DEG C, and thus can be used as the shear strength improving agent for a
petroleum drilling
working fluid so as to improve the suspension stabilizing capability of the
working fluid on a lightening admixture or
a weighting admixture and enhance the cuttings
carrying capacity and the borehole cleaning capability of the
system.
