The adsorption material capable of adsorbing nitrogen and phosphorus simultaneously is prepared from the aluminum sludge containing activated carbon and zeolite, the adsorption effect of the aluminum sludge on ammonium and nitrogen in a water body is improved, and good phosphate adsorption performance is kept.

The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) preparing a comonomer solution containing polyethylene glycol; (2) preparing a mixed solution of calcium chloride and ammonium persulfate; (3) dropping the solution obtained inthe step (1) into the mixed solution in the step (2) uniformly, introducing N2 to perform protection, soaking the gel ball after reacting for several times to obtain a porous interpenetrating networkpoly N-isopropylacrylamide/calcium alginate gel ball; and (4) putting the gel ball in the step (3) into a zirconium oxychloride solution, soaking, cleaning, filtering, freeze-drying and finally obtaining the porous interpenetrating network poly N-isopropylacrylamide/zirconium alginate gel ball. The gel ball contains Zr<4+> with extremely strong affinity on anions and a porous structure, so the gelball can effectively adsorb phosphate in water, and the adsorption quantity is up to 46.5 mg-P/G. Moreover, the gel ball has an interpenetrating network structure and higher stability, so even if thegel ball is reused for 5 times, the adsorption capability is only reduced by 8.7 percent.
