All the components except the piston are made of a non-magnetic conduction material as much as possible. The novel electromagnetic pump has the advantages that: because electromagnetic force is adopted as the power of the electromagnetic pump, the pump is entirely small in volume, and simultaneously has a simple structure and is suitable for application in families, flowage, sampling and testing occasions, flow tests and other corresponding occasions.

Automatic optimizing pump and sensor system

A reciprocating electromagnetic pump comprising a coil wound about a bipolar or tripolar core, a diaphragm structure mechanically coupled to at least one arm with a magnet attached to one end of the arm and a controller electronically connected to the coil. The arm is vibrated under the influence of a periodic electromagnetic field to produce flow. The flow of current through the electromagnet is interrupted so that the magnets are impelled during either a vacuum or a pressure stroke, but are not impelled during the reciprocal stroke. A microprocessor houses the controller which analyzes amplitude and frequency components of a signal produced in the electromagnet coil during the reciprocal stroke to provide a pump flow rate, a pumping efficiency, a pumping load and a height of the fluid column into which the pump mechanism is operating. The controller employs automatic feedback such that an operating frequency is controlled to match a self-resonant frequency of the pump and a coil current is controlled to a minimum value required to provide the desired flow. The microprocessor further comprises a pulse generator and a solid state switch that interrupts current flow through a pump electromagnet.

A system to extract heat from a high power density device and dissipate heat at a convenient distance. The system circulates liquid metal in a closed conduit using one or more electromagnetic pumps for carrying away the heat from high power density device and rejecting the heat at a heat sink located at a distance. The system may make use of a thermoelectric generator to power the electromagnetic pumps by utilizing the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet pipes of the heat sink. The system also provides networks of primary and secondary closed conduits having series and parallel arrangements of electromagnetic pumps for dissipating heat from multiple devices at a remotely located heat sink.

Since more accurate element content control values and reliable operation process parameters are provided by the scheme, the high-performance cast aluminum alloy, especially suitable for the automotive industry can be prepared based on the optimized configuration of trace elements in AlSi7Cu2Mg.

A configuration for a drug delivery system which offers significant advantages over presently available systems. The system provides redundant protection against overdelivery of drug, increased accuracy of delivery, reduced energy requirement, increased capability to clear a blocked catheter, and alarms signifying catheter blockage or valve leakage. The system comprises the series combination of a reservoir, low power electromagnetic pump having spring-biased magnetically actuated piston / plunger and a check valve, pressure sensor, pressure regulator and a catheter. The reservoir supplies a drug at greater than ambient pressure, e.g. 18.7 psia or 4 psi above normal sea level ambient pressure. The pump increases the pressure by 3 psi to 21.7 psia. The pressure sensor tracks the pressure at this location and triggers suitable action by the pump. The pressure regulator downstream of the pressure sensor is configured to hold the pressure at the regulator inlet at a desired level such as 21.7 psia. The catheter at the regulator exit delivers fluid to the patient at a pressure which is normally close to that of the patient's environment.

A piston is slidably provided in a cylinder and partitions a first pump chamber, and a second pump chamber connected to an object to be operated. A first on-off valve is provided between the first pump chamber and the outside. A second on-off valve is provided in a connecting flow passage that connects the first pump chamber and the second pump chamber to each other. When the piston is moved forward by an electromagnetic force of a solenoid portion, a capacity of the first pump chamber decreases, and a capacity of the second pump chamber increases. When the piston is moved backward by a biasing force of a spring, the capacity of the first pump chamber increases, and the capacity of the second pump chamber decreases. A pressure receiving area of the front face of the piston is larger than that of the back face thereof.

The first and second chambers are interconnected by a channel that permits transfer of the fluid between the chambers. The first switch device includes a control terminal coupled to a node of the primary-side circuitry. The first output node and a second output node are provided for coupling thereto the electromagnetic pump, and the second output node may be coupled to the second terminal of the first secondary coil.

Control System for Electromagnetic Pumps

A control system for controlling electromagnetic pumps, such as electromagnetic driven membrane pumps, has at least one microprocessor and at least one sensor, the microprocessor controlling the power supply to at least one electromagnet whose changes in emitted magnetic field causes at least one moving part, directly or indirectly, to perform an oscillating pumping movement. The control system has at least one positioning sensor which senses the moving part's position in the electromagnetic driven pump. By use of the positioning sensor's measurements, the pump can be controlled with great accuracy. A method for controlling electromagnetic pumps is also provided.

The invention combines a plurality of technological processes into a production cycle, which reduces the turnover links, saves energy and reduces cost.
