Digital signal processor for audio extensions and correction of nonlinear distortions in loudspeakers

Digital filters for processing an input audio signal for extending the audio capabilities and reducing distortion of a loudspeaker. Such extension may include a general sound pressure level (SPL) extension or a more targeted low frequency (LF) extension. This may be accomplished by modifying an original frequency response of the loudspeaker to achieve a particular extension, and applying a digital linear filter based on the modified frequency response to the audio signal. A nonlinear digital filter may also be applied to the audio signal reduce nonlinear distortions of the loudspeaker. The nonlinear digital filter may be based on an inverse of an electro-mechanical model of the loudspeaker. In this manner, a loudspeaker may be driven close to its maximum theoretical power capability without increasing distortion in the loudspeaker output.

Non-resonant four degrees-of-freedom micromachined gyroscope

A micromachined design and method with inherent disturbance-rejection capabilities is based on increasing the degrees-of-freedom (DOF) of the oscillatory system by the use of two independently oscillating proof masses. Utilizing dynamical amplification in the 4-degrees-of-freedom system, inherent disturbance rejection is achieved, providing reduced sensitivity to structural and thermal parameter fluctuations and damping changes over the operating time of the device. In the proposed system, the first mass is forced to oscillate in the drive direction, and the response of the second mass in the orthogonal direction is sensed. The response has two resonant peaks and a flat region between peaks. Operation is in the flat region, where the gain is insensitive to frequency fluctuations. An over 15 times increase in the bandwidth of the system is achieved due to the use of the proposed architecture. In addition, the gain in the operation region has low sensitivity to damping changes. Consequently, by utilizing the disturbance-rejection capability of the dynamical system, improved robustness is achieved, which can relax tight fabrication tolerances and packaging requirements and thus result in reducing production cost of micromachined methods.

Low dropout voltage regulator using a depletion pass transistor

A linear low dropout voltage regulator is described that makes use of a depletion mode NMOS pass transistor and of a PMOS transistor in series to the NMOS transistor and connected to its drain. The depletion NMOS transistor assures low dropout operations, while the series PMOS transistor allows the current regulation even under the condition of shorted load. The same PMOS transistor may be used to disable the current in the load without generating a negative voltage at the gate of the depletion pass transistor. This regulator is inherently stable without the need for an output capacitor in parallel to the load.

The invention relates to an integrated temperature thin film pressure sensor, which consists of a suction pressure connecting pipe with threads and a seal ring, a sensitive component, an external circuit board, a shell and a socket connector. A sensitive elastomer is provided with a transition layer, an insulating layer, resistive layers (including a strain resistive layer and a temperature sensitive resistive layer), a welding layer and a passivation protective layer, wherein the resistive layers are connected with the external circuit board through conducting wires. The insulating layer of the sensor is formed by superimposing SiO2 and Ta2O5 or superimposing the SiO2 and Al2O3, the strain resistive layer is formed by photoetching a NiCr alloy layer, the temperature sensitive layer is formed by photoetching Ni metal, and the temperature sensitive layer not only can solve the problem of actual temperature measurement, but also can compensate the temperature sensitivity more precisely so that the pressure measurement is more accurate. The integrated temperature thin film pressure sensor adopts an ion beam sputtering process, thus the long-term stability of the sensor is good, the temperature zero drift is minimum and the comprehensive precision is high.

The measuring device consists of a front end processor externally provided with the metal induction polar plate, an optic fiber, a photoelectric converting module and a computer part, wherein, the induction polar plate and a shielding case of the front end processor form a capacitance type voltage sensor. Compared with the prior art, the invention adopts the method that the capacitance type voltage sensor directly measures the field strength of an electrified body surface to measure the voltage, thus having the advantages of good measurement property, simple structure and convenient use.

Band reject filters

Band reject filters are disclosed. A band reject filter includes a first acoustic resonator and a second acoustic resonator, each of which has either shunt resonators adapted to resonate substantially at respective resonance frequencies defining a rejection frequency band or series resonators adapted to anti-resonate substantially at respective anti-resonance frequencies defining the rejection frequency band. These resonators are connected through a phase shifter which imparts an impedance phase shift of approximately 45° to 135°.
