The invention provides a rainwater bio-retention pond structure with submerging
layers and a method for constructing the rainwater bio-retention pond structure. The rainwater bio-retention pond structure is mainly applied to reducing rainwater runoff flood peaks and managing non-
point source pollution due to rainwater runoff and particularly can be applied to purifying urban and rural input type non-
point source pollution. The rainwater bio-retention pond structure which is a bio-retention pond sequentially comprises a retention layer, a filter layer, a
transition layer and a drain layer. Theretention layer, the filter layer, the
transition layer and the drain layer are sequentially constructed from bottom to top; the retention layer is used for storing rainwater, and the
transition layer, the filter layer and the drain layer are filled with medium raw materials. The rainwater bio-retention pond structure and the method have the advantages that the transition layer and the drain layerare used as the submerging
layers, accordingly, the rainwater can be effectively stored, anaerobic environments can be provided, and the
pollutant removal capacity can be enhanced; fillers of the various
layers in the pond have interior relations, and definite
particle size distribution requirements are applied to the fillers;
plant growth fertilizers, adsorption granules, slow-release carbon sources and compound microbial preparations or compound microbial embedded granules are mixed with the various layers in the pond, accordingly,
pollution substances in the rainwater can be assuredly efficiently treated by the bio-retention pond for a long term, and obvious
nitrogen and
phosphorus removal effects can be particularly realized.
