The present invention relates to a water-saving type filtration tank. The tank mainly comprises a backwash pipe, a backwash valve, a tank body, a water inlet, a filtration material support component, a filtration material, a water outlet, a water outlet valve, a mud discharge port and a mud discharge valve. The filtration material support component and the filtration material are combined to form a filtration unit. The filtration unit is arranged in the water inside the filtration tank. The backwash pipe and a water outlet pipe are connected by the filtration unit. The filtration unit has a structure with a thin lower part and a thick upper part. During the filtering process, water requiring filtration passes through the filtration material from outside to inside, enters the inner of the filtration unit, and finally is discharged by the water outlet. Due to the filtration unit structure with the thin lower part and the thick upper part, the suspended solids trapped by the filtration material are accumulated to a certain extent so as to separate from the filtration material, and sink on the bottom of a precipitation tank by the gravitational effect, such that the number of the backwash is reduced. When the backwash is required, the water outlet valve is closed, the backwash valve is opened, the backwashing sludge directly enters the filtration tank and does not need discharge, and the sludge in the backwashing water sinks on the bottom of the filtration tank. The number of the backwash of the filtration tank is less, and the discharge of a large amount of the backwashing water is not required, such that the significant water-saving effect is provided.
