The invention provides a method for optimizing the test cycle of a nuclear power plant containment vessel. The method comprises the following steps: S1. judging whether the history situation of CTT cycle of the test of the nuclear power plant containment vessel is qualified, if so, entering S2, otherwise, judging that the CTT cycle is not suitable for being prolonged; S2. judging whether the nuclear power plant containment vessel is checked to be qualified or not, if so, entering S3., otherwise, correcting; and S3. evaluating the risk after prolonging the CTT cycle of the power plant, judgingwhether the risk evaluation is passed, if so, determining to prolong the CTT cycle, otherwise, judging that the CTT cycle is not suitable fo being prolonged. By utilizing the method, the CTT test cycle can be prolonged, the CTT frequency can be reduced, the CTT risk can be efficiently reduced, overhaul of critical paths can be saved within the service life of a nuclear power unit, at least 120,000,000 degrees power can be generated by thousands and millions of units; at least ten days of overhaul critical path can be saved after the service life of the nuclear power plant is prolonged, 240,000,000 degrees power can be generated by thousands and millions of units, and the economic benefits can be obviously increased.
