The composition of the zirconium-based amorphous alloy is as shown in ZrCuAl<c>Ni<d>Ti<e>M<f>, wherein a, b, c, d, e and f are corresponding atomic percents of elements in the zirconium-based amorphous alloy, a is no less than 50 and no more than 55, b is no less than 15 and no more than 30, c is no less than 15 and no more than 24, d is no less than 0.1 and no more than 9, e is no less than 0.1 and no more than 5, f is no less than 0.1 and no more than 5, a+b+c+d+e+f is no more than 100, and M is one or more selected from a group consisting of Sc, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu. The invention also provides a method for preparing the zirconium-based amorphous alloy.
