The invention discloses a production process of a metal gear shifting ball head and belongs to the field of gear shifting ball heads. The production process comprises the following steps of die casting, wherein after an aluminum alloy ingot material is molten, a part base material is formed through die casting formation; machining, wherein machining treatment is conducted on the part base materialthrough a CNC process; polishing, wherein mirror polish treatment is conducted on the surface of a part; cleaning, wherein the polished part is cleaned; copper plating, wherein copper plating treatment is conducted on the surface of the part; polishing, wherein high-glossiness polishing treatment is conducted on the surface of the part obtained after copper plating treatment; cleaning, wherein the part obtained after high-glossiness polishing treatment is cleaned; and surface electroplating and spraying process treatment, wherein copper plating, nickel plating and chrome plating are sequentially conducted on the surface of the part, and finally, painting treatment is conducted. According to the production process, the gear shifting ball head is formed by conducting die casting on the aluminum alloy ingot material; after surface copper plating is completed, polishing and electroplating treatment are conducted; wear resistance and temperature resistance of the gear shifting ball head are improved; and in addition, the metal gear shifting ball head is recyclable, and the problem that when a plastic material is adopted, the environment is polluted is avoided.
