11 results about "Implant types" patented technology

Types of implants. There are two main types of implants: Endosteal: These dental implants are placed in the jawbone. Typically made of titanium and shaped like small screws, they are the most commonly used type of implant. Subperiosteal: These dental implants are placed under the gum but on, or above, the jawbone.

Systems and methods for assisting a surgeon and producing patient-specific medical devices

Systems and methods for assisting a surgeon with implant during a surgery are disclosed. A method includes defining areas of interest in diagnostic data of a patient and defining an implant type. Post defining the areas of interest, salient points are determined for the areas of interest. Successively, an XZ angle, an XY angle, and a position entry point for an implant are determined based on the salient points of the areas of interest. In spinal procedures, a maximum screw diameter and a length of the spinal screw are successively determined based on the salient points. Based on determined length and diameter, a spinal screw and a matching screw guide is determined. Thereafter, the spinal screw and the screw guide is printed using a Three-Dimensional (3D) printer. Such printed spinal screw and screw guide could be used by the surgeon during the spinal surgery.

Oral implant intelligent planning recommendation method based on artificial intelligence

The invention relates to the technical field of oral implant, and discloses an intelligent oral implant planning recommendation method based on artificial intelligence. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring multi-modal oral data of a patient, and constructing a three-dimensional jaw bone model so as to comprehensively present the anatomical structure and physiological characteristics of the jaw bone of the patient; based on the multi-modal oral cavity data, generating initial implant type parameters and initial implant position parameters, and realizing preliminary intelligent recommendation of implant parameters; inputting the initial parameters into a parameter mapping layer for conversion, outputting geometric feature parameters and biomechanical weight parameters of the implant, and establishing correlation between the parameters and biomechanical properties; according to the three-dimensional jaw bone model, determining an implant region constraint condition, matching the implant region constraint condition with a preset implant taboo rule base, and when the conflict parameter exceeds a preset threshold value, generating an implant position adjusting instruction. According to the method, multi-modal data are integrated, full-process intelligentization of planting planning is realized, planning accuracy and safety are improved, and a clinical planting scheme making process is optimized.

System and method for characterizing bone mineral density in patients undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty

An implant type or a process of implant fixation is automatically identified by processing surgical plan information. Further, bone mineral density information associated with a patient is determined by processing at least one image. The determined bone mineral density information and patient information representing at least demographics associated with the patient are processed, and a selection of a plurality of patients that previously underwent arthroplasty is made. Outcome information representing results of arthroplasty procedures is processed and a threshold is established representing a biomechanical tolerance. The bone mineral density information is processed to be determined associated with the patient is determined to be above or below the threshold.

Determining the type of implant to be inserted into the cornea of an eye to correct refractive errors.

It describes a method for producing an implant to be inserted into the cornea of an eye (3) for the purpose of correcting refractive errors, comprising the steps a) Providing refractive error data about the refractive error of the eye to be corrected, b) Determining the necessary corneal shape change to correct the refractive error based on the refractive error data, c) Defining a lateral course of the thickness of the implant such that its insertion into the cornea produces the desired refractive error correction, whereby a proportion is determined to which the thickness of the implant changes the shape of the front of the cornea, wherein the proportion is between zero and one.

Patella tracking methods and systems for surgical planning

Systems and computer-implemented methods of improving a patello-femoral response. A computing system operably coupled to a markerless navigation system classifies the knee anatomy of the patient into one or more segments, including the patella. The computing system further receives first simulation data of movement of the segmented patella at a first surgical phase, such as a pre-operative phase. The computing system receives second simulation data of the segmented patella at a second surgical phase, such as an intraoperative stage using a first implant type. The computing system generates comparison data based on a comparison of the first and second simulation data. The computing system analyzes the comparison data, along with patient-specific information, via a machine learning model to provide one or more recommendations to improve a patello-femoral response based on reducing, minimizing, or eliminating the differences between the first simulation data and the second simulation data.

Sustained release implantable biodegradable stents loaded with antitumor active ingredients

The application relates to the fields of biological medicine and high polymer materials, and discloses a sustained-release implant type biodegradable stent loaded with an antitumor active component, which is composed of polylactic acid-glycolic acid copolymer, doxorubicin hydrochloride, citric acid-terminated polyethylene glycol polymer, zinc acetate dihydrate and N-acetyl cysteine. The metastable complex structure is constructed by in-situ coordination reaction between the components, so that the rapid release of the water-soluble doxorubicin hydrochloride in the initial implantation stage is blocked. After implantation, N-acetyl cysteine is preferentially dissociated and released, so that the zinc ion coordination unsaturated sites are generated in the coordination network; with the hydrolysis of the polylactic acid-glycolic acid copolymer, the generated lactic acid molecules intervene in the above unsaturated sites to generate a competitive coordination reaction, so that the coordination skeleton is destroyed and the antitumor drug is released. The application realizes the synchronization of the drug release rate and the high polymer matrix degradation rate, and the acetate dissociated from the zinc acetate can effectively buffer the pH value of the degradation microenvironment.
