The invention relates to a 
blue light excited green fluorescent 
powder for a 
white light LED and a preparing method thereof. The fluorescent 
powder can be used for manufacturing white LEDs, the excitation spectrum range is between 350 nanometers and 540 nanometers, and the 
emission spectrum range is between 450 nanometers and 700 nanometers. The 
structural formula of the fluorescent 
powder is MaScbSicOd:Cex, wherein, M is composed of at least one of Ca, Sr and Ba, a, b, c, d and x are 
molar coefficients, and the ranges are respectively: 2<=a<=4, 1<=b<=3, 2<=c<=4, 9<=d<=13, 0.001<=x<=0.2, 4<=(a+b+x)<6, and 11<(c+d)<16. The preparing method includes preparing raw materials according to the 
structural formula MaScbSicOd:Cex and stoichiometric numbers, adding fluxing agents into the materials, subjecting the mixture to 
wetting and mixing with deionized water, ball milling, stoving, reduction 
roasting and post-
processing to obtain the material. The 
blue light excited green fluorescent powder for the 
white light LED has the advantages that the luminance is high, the particle size is uniform, the 
excitation wavelength is wide, the emission 
wavelength can be adjusted according to needs, the 
chemical stability is good, and the like; and the preparing method is simple, 
pollution-free, and low in cost.
