2-amino-2-deoxy-D-glucopyranose is a D-glucosamine whose structure comprises D-glucopyranose having an amino substituent at position 2. It has a role as an Escherichia coli metabolite and a mouse metabolite. It derives from a D-glucopyranose. It is a conjugate base of a 2-ammonio-2-deoxy-D-glucopyranose.

Food product and process for manufacturing same

This invention is concerned with packaged food products which contain specific combinations of functional additives aimed at addressing specific health indicators, in particular flatulence, gastro-intestinal health, stress and immune system responsiveness, in pet animals. There is provided a commercially packaged mammal pet food product that includes a manufactured, shelf-life stable food substrate and a combination of functional additives. The functional additives include at least one non-palatable plant-based remedy and/or dietary fiber source that are present to strengthen and/or maintain a specified health indicator of a mammal pet animal. The food product is portioned and packaged with the functional additives being present in predetermined concentrations and amounts sufficient to be effective in achieving said indications on regular feeding of the pet animal with said food product. The food substrate is present in a proportion sufficient to mask the flavor and/or odor of the non-palatable additive and is made-up of a unique combination of materials that are able to be processed at lower temperatures to preserve the natural botanical functional additive's activity. Functional additives intended to address dietary flatulence problems include a combination of Yucca extract, charcoal and salts of zinc, such as zinc acetate. Functional additives to promote or maintain gastro-intestinal health include a combination of L-glutamine, D-glucosamine sulphate, sugar beet pulp, slippery elm. Functional additives to strengthen or maintain a pet animal's natural body defenses include a combination of vitamin E, vitamin B complex, primrose oil vitamin C and Marigold meal. Functional additives to promote or maintain reduction of stress and/or improved behavior of a pet animal include a combination of Valerian root extract, Kava root extract, vitamin B complex and magnesium salt.

BMD (bone mineral density)-increased health food composite and preparation method thereof

The invention relates to a BMD (bone mineral density)-increased health food composite and a preparation method of the BMD-increased health food composite. The BMD-increased health food composite comprises 180-220 parts by weight of red deer bone, 120-160 parts by weight of D-glucosamine hydrochloride, 80-100 parts by weight of chondroitin sulfate, 25-45 parts by weight of achyranthes root extractive, 20-40 parts by weight of drynaria rhizome extractive, 15-35 parts by weight of herba epimedii extractive, 10-20 parts by weight of casein phosphopeptides, and clinically-acceptable auxiliary materials, so that the hard capsule, the troche, the granule, the powder, the tea bag agent and the soft capsule can be prepared. According to the invention, a calcium source can be compensated by the red deer bone, the symptom of the osteoarthropathy can be improved by the D-glucosamine hydrochloride and the chondroitin sulfate, the calcium absorption can be promoted by the casein phosphopeptides, and the functions of nourishing the liver and kidney and strengthening the bones and muscles can be achieved due to the compatibility of traditional Chinese medicines. The BMD can be effectively increased due to the joint compatibility of the raw materials; a finished product is simple in preparation technology; and the health food provided by the invention is exact in effects, safe, and free of toxic and side effects, and can be taken for a long term, so that the general flavone in every 100g in the content of effect ingredients of the health food composite is higher than 0.5g.

D-glucosamine-modified iron oxide nanoparticles and preparation method of lyophilized powder thereof

The invention relates to d-glucosamine-modified iron oxide nanoparticles used as a tracer for magnetic resonance, a preparation method of lyophilized powder thereof and use thereof. The d-glucosamine-modified iron oxide nanoparticles comprise superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, wherein the surfaces of the superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles are modified by a substance having carboxyls; the carboxyls react with the aminos of the d-glucosamine to form amido bonds; and thus a structure that the surfaces of the superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles are modified by the d-glucosamine is formed. The invention provides a novel tumor-targeted MRI contrast agent which has high selectivity of tumors for the tumor targeted magnetic resonance diagnostic tests and clinic tumor diagnosis. By preserving the d-glucosamine-modified superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles in form of the lyophilized powder, the unstable problem of the d-glucosamine-modified superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles is solved. The d-glucosamine-modified iron oxide nanoparticles are sterile, anhemolytic and free from vascular stimulation and can meet the requirements of tests of cells, animals and the like.

Method for separating and extracting N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and D-glucosamine from ammonia sugar fermentation liquor

The invention discloses a method for separating and extracting N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and D-glucosamine from ammonia sugar fermentation liquor. The method includes the steps of microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and the like, the fermentation liquor is filtered through a microfiltration membrane with the aperture of 0.1-10 micrometers to remove impurity particles and microbial thalli, protein, nucleic acid, colloidal particle large molecules and other impurities are removed through filtering by means of an ultrafiltration membrane with the aperture of 0.001-0.1 micrometer, and pigment, polypeptide, nucleotide and other small-molecular impurities are removed through a reverse osmosis system; N-acetyl-D-glucosamine is crystallized and separated from the fermentation filtrate containing N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and glucosamine. The method includes the steps of fermentation filtrate heating and concentration, seed crystal addition, temperature-control crystallization, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine crystal collection, residual glucosamine recycling and the like. The method is low in cost and does not influence the structure of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, and the obtained N-acetyl-D-glucosamine is high in purity.
