The invention discloses a cross metal wire elastic modulus measuring device and method. Elongation of a metal wire is converted to inclination of the crossbar by utilizing the crossbar and the vertical bar, which are hinged in a cross shape, a small inclination angle of the crossbar is converted to observable arc length by virtue of the laser transmitter, the arc receiving screen and the display device, and the elastic modulus of the metal wire is obtained by establishing a relation among the arc length, inclination angle and elongation of the metal wire. The measurement principle is clear, the stretching process of the metal wire can be clearly demonstrated, the debugging of a complex optical system is avoided, the length measurement error of the metal wire is reduced by virtue of the precise leveling of the leveling weight, the measurement precision is high, the stability is good, and the cross metal wire elastic modulus measuring device and method are an experimental device and method suitable for physical teaching and scientific research.
