The invention provides an aluminum oxide ceramic. The aluminum oxide ceramic is prepared from aluminum oxide, calcined kaolin, bentonite, heavy magnesium carbonate, calcium carbonate, barium carbonate, glycerol, emulsified wax, titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide and lanthanum oxide. The invention also provides a preparation method for the aluminum oxide ceramic. The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing all the raw materials, adding water, carrying out ball milling, adding an aqueous polyvinyl alcohol solution with a mass fraction of 10%, continuing ball milling to obtain slurry, carrying out spray granulation to obtain a ceramic material, carrying out dry pressing molding, and performing roasting to obtain the aluminum oxide ceramic.
