The invention relates to a preparation method of a lean-burn type
natural gas vehicle catalyst. The catalyst has low ignition temperature and high catalyzed oxidation efficiency to
methane and belongs to the technical field of
catalysis. According to the preparation method,
cordierite honeycomb ceramic is used as a carrier, activated
aluminium oxide and various salt additives are used as coatings, precious metals of Pt and Pd are used as catalyst activity components, and the catalyst for efficient
catalytic oxidation of the
methane is prepared by changing a
coating formula and a
coating process. The preparation method comprises the following steps of: taking and dissolving various salt additives to deionized water, adding the activated
aluminium oxide with a certain proportion, stirring and ball-milling, controlling seriflux parameters to prepare
coating size, adding
precious metal salt to the size in batches according to different loading method of Pt and Pd metals, dipping the
cordierite honeycomb ceramic carrier to the size after uniformly stirring, and
roasting at a high temperature after
drying to obtain the catalyst. Compared with conventional catalyst, the catalyst prepared by the invention has the advantages of simple preparation process, low ignition temperature of the
methane, high conversion rate of the methane, low cost, good
ageing resistance, and the like.
