Cymbidium, /sɪmˈbɪdiəm/, commonly known as boat orchids, is a genus of evergreen flowering plants in the orchid family Orchidaceae. Orchids in this genus are epiphytic, lithophytic, terrestrial or rarely leafless saprophytic herbs usually with pseudobulbs. There are usually between three and twelve leaves arranged in two ranks on each pseudobulb or shoot and lasting for several years. From one to a large number of flowers are arranged on an unbranched flowering stem arising from the base of the pseudobulb. The sepals and petals are all free from and similar to each other. The labellum is significantly different from the other petals and the sepals and has three lobes. There are about fifty-five species and sixteen further natural hybrids occurring in the wild from tropical and subtropical Asia to Australia. Cymbidiums are well known in horticulture and many cultivars have been developed.

Florescence control method for cymbidium hybridum

The invention discloses a florescence control method for cymbidium hybridum, which comprises the following steps: 1. carrying out first flower-formation promoting starting from 180 days before a desired-to-flower date, lasting for 30 days, and applying a first hormone solution every 5 days, wherein the first hormone solution refers to a gibberellin GA3 solution or a 15% paclobutrazol PP333 solution, from the first time, the concentration of the first hormone solution is linearly increased by a span of 5-15 mg/L each time, and the concentration of the first hormone solution used for the first time is 10-50 mg/L; and 2. carrying out second flower-formation promoting starting from 30 days before the desired-to-flower date, lasting for 15 days, and applying a second hormone solution every 2 days, wherein the hormone solutes of the first hormone solution and the second hormone solution are the same, the concentration of the second hormone solution used for each time is the same, and the concentration is 3-7 mg/L. By using the method disclosed by the invention, the cymbidium hybridum can be in its flowering season 5-25 days ahead of schedule, and the flowering season can be in the same period as the Spring Festival; the florescence control range is larger, the control on florescence is more accurate, and the florescence control error is reduced to a range of minus or plus 2 days.

Cymbidium culture method

The invention discloses a cymbidium culture method, which comprises the following steps that (1) the cymbidium is subjected to strain division, and each strain of the cymbidium at least comprises three seedlings; the cymbidium subjected to the strain division is subjected to root covering by gauze and is put into nutrition liquid to be soaked for 2 to 3 days; after being taken out, the seedlings are dried for use; (2) a cymbidium culture substrate is prepared from the following materials including vermiculite, leaf mold, plant ash, fly ash, feather meal, wormcast, waste and abandoned fruit peel, pine needles and slow release fertilizer and water-retaining agents; before 1 to 2 days of the cymbidium culture, 200 to 300 mL of carbendazol or potassium permanganate solutions are sprayed on each square meter of the culture substrate. The method has the advantages that after the strain division, the roots of the cymbidium are covered by the gauze and are put into the nutrition liquid to be soaked, so that the root infection due to cymbidium strain division can be reduced; the root growth capability of the cymbidium can be improved during the cymbidium strain planting through indoleacetic acid and gibberellin contained in the nutrition liquid; the cymbidium can fast generate root and germinate; the cymbidium survival rate is improved.

Method for identifying cymbidium varieties

InactiveCN101818199AResolve genetic relationshipsSolve problems such as authenticity checksMicrobiological testing/measurementMolecular identificationInformation diversity
The invention provides a molecular identification method for cymbidium varieties, which is a simple sequence repeat genome analysis-based molecular identification method for the cymbidium varieties and analyzes the genetic relation of the cymbidium varieties by optimizing a technical system of cymbidium simple sequence repeat (SSR) analysis. By directly detecting the DNA sequence difference of the variety with genetic stability and information diversity, the method can definitely distinguish and judge different varieties of cymbidium, and realize accurate and quick identification of the variety so as to provide a reliable technique for variety identification, seed and seedling market management, variety protection and elite seed breeding and the like. By optimizing the SSR technical system of cymbidium genome DNA, the molecular identification of the cymbidium varieties has high speed, short time and multiple polymorphisms, the problems of reality inspection and the like of the cymbidium seedlings can be solved before trading, and the loss of a producer or a buyer is avoided. The method can distinguish and identify all cymbidium varieties by using one and more effective primers, and realize DNA fingerprint identification of the cymbidium varieties.

Cultivation method for cymbidium

The invention provides a cultivation method for cymbidium. The cultivation method for cymbidium comprises the steps of (1) preparing cultivation soil, wherein lava, coal ash, soil with rotten leaves, cymbidium soil, cymbidium stone and vermiculite are stirred, mixed evenly and sieved, and then the cultivation soil is prepared for use; (2) sowing seeds, wherein a clay pot with the caliber and the depth both being 20 cm is used as a cymbidium pot, the cultivation soil is placed in the cymbidium pot, and the cymbidium seeds are sown in the cultivation soil; (3) managing illumination, wherein the cymbidium pot is placed in a placed exposed to direct sunlight, a shading net is arranged in summer, shading starts at 10:30 am and ends at 16: 30 pm, and the shading net is removed at other time; (4) managing moisture, wherein watering is conducted once on the second day after the cultivation soil in the pot is completely dried every week, and the air humidity is kept between 30% to 40%; (5) managing fertilizer application, after cymbidium comes up, leaf fertilizer is sprayed three times every week, and in a small cymbidium seedling period, nitrogenous fertilizer is applied twice every week; (6) managing ventilation, wherein a ventilation quantity is kept through an industrial exhaust fan; (7) conducting overwinter management, wherein in winter, abscisic acid is sprayed every 10 days. By the adoption of the cultivation method for cymbidium, the quality of cymbidium can be effectively improved, and the abloom rate of cymbidium can be increased.
