The present invention relates to an adhesive, and more particularly to a cellulose-based dopa adhesive and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method is characterized in that dopamine hydrochloride is grafted to oxidized cellulose in the form of amide bond by amidation. Also provided is a cellulose-based dopa adhesive prepared by the method. Dopa is combined with oxidized cellulose basedon the adhesion, water resistance, non-toxicity and biocompatibility of the dopa, and dopamine hydrochloride is used to graft the oxidized cellulose, imparting adhesion to the oxidized cellulose. Thus, a non-toxic, harmless and pollution-free adhesive is prepared. Due to the compatibility of dopa and the biodegradability of cellulose, the product can be applied to biomedical and other areas.
