Zingiberaceae (/ˌzɪndʒɪbɪˈreɪsii/) or the ginger family is a family of flowering plants made up of about 50 genera with a total of about 1600 known species of aromatic perennial herbs with creeping horizontal or tuberous rhizomes distributed throughout tropical Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
Zingiberaceae plant extract and use thereof
The present application, for the first time, identifies the exceptional insecticidal activity of Zingiberaceae plant extracts against agricultural pests such as mites and thrips, as well as the synergistic effects arising from combination and co-extraction of ginger extracts from different species, thereby expanding the application range of ginger extracts, and also providing a novel option for controlling pest mites and thrips in agriculture.

For the first time, the excellent insect-resistant activity of a Zingiberaceae plant extract on pests such as agricultural pest mites and thrips and a compounding synergism and co-extraction synergism relationship among extracts of different species of the Zingiberaceae is discovered, an application range of the Zingiberaceae extract is expanded, and a new choice for controlling the pest mites and thrips in agriculture is also provided.
