The present invention provides a single piece machined rotor comprising a shell having an upper lip and a lower lip, with a pocket formed between the upper lip and the lower lip for mounting magnets therein. The magnets are fixed in place within the inner sidewall of the rotor with an adhesive and spacers. The spacers are positioned between the magnets and are held in place on the shell of the rotor by fasteners. The spacers may be of any type of non-magnetic material that can absorb the heat of the engine. The rotor also preferably includes triggering protrusions and balancing cutouts machined into the shell of the rotor. The cutouts or grooves may be machined into the inner sidewall or the outer sidewall of the rotor. A plurality of timing teeth used for engine speed sensing maybe machined into the single piece rotor assembly. The present invention also contemplates a method of machining the entire rotor out of a single piece of material.

As the traffic volume carried by telecommunication networks has been rapidly increased as a result of the bandwidth-intensive applications such as Internet access, electronic commerce, multimedia applications, and distributed computing, it is imperative to utilize the optical network for backbone, metropolitan, and local area networks. The optical networks employing optical fibers as the transmission medium have exhibited a superior performance / cost ratio for both long-haul and short-haul routes and the emerging dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) / all-optical networks have shown a promising potential to improve speed, capacity and connectivity of optical telecommunication networks. The present invention provides Micro-Opto-Electro-Mechanical Waveguide Switch (MOEM-WS) by integrating MEMS actuators and micromachined PLCs on the same substrate. The MOEM-WS is an integrated hybrid microsystem: Micro-Opto-Electro-Mechanical System (MOEMS) and it is particularly applicable for optical cross-connect (OXC) switches and optical add / drop multiplexers (OADM). The MOEM-WS can provide an essential fiber switching capability for DWDM / all-optical networks with numerous accompanying benefits such as low cost, small crosstalk, reliability, compactness, high speed, reconfigurability, modularity, scalability, and insensitiveness to signal wavelength and polarization.

Working method of the external threaded FRP (fiberglass-reinforced plastic) pipe and fitting

InactiveUS20090174184A1Quick pipe connectionLong installation timePipe-jointsHose connectionsPipingEngineering
The invention discloses an external threaded FRP pipe and fitting, in which the outside surface of the FRP pipe and fitting connecting end is added up with a threaded layer, whereof the outside of the threaded layer is molded directly to external thread. The work method of it is that the outside surface of the FRP pipe or fitting connecting end is ground, laminated with resin manually, wound around with glass fiber, and added up with an anti-corrosion layer, whereby it is molded to an external threaded structure through the use of mold. This method has achieved quick connection of the FRP piping system and greatly reduced the operating cost.
