Vegetative reproduction (also known as vegetative propagation, vegetative multiplication or vegetative cloning) is any form of asexual reproduction occurring in plants in which a new plant grows from a fragment of the parent plant or a specialized reproductive structure.

Gracilaria lemaneiformis cell engineering seedling raising method

The invention belongs to the field of cell engineering seedling culture of algae, and particularly relates to a cell engineering seedling culture method of gracilaria lemaneiformis. The gracilaria lemaneiformis frond is constructed into a miniaturized form, and high-density intensive culture is carried out by utilizing a photobioreactor. According to the method, the microminiaturized asparagus frond obtained by a cell engineering means can be subjected to vegetative propagation, efficient propagation is carried out by utilizing the algae photobioreactor, and the microminiaturized asparagus frond is further cultured into seedlings for artificial cultivation.

Method of revegetating a native plant community

A method of revegetating a native plant community such as a forest includes the steps of mechanically collecting forest floor material, specifically targeting native plant seeds, spores, and acrotelm layers, to restore native forest species. The collected material is formed into small pieces, such as pucks, for distribution on the target land. The pieces are formed by wetting the material with water and a binder as a wetting agent, mechanically compressed and dried to a moisture content less than 15% by volume. Each piece has a surface area of less than 25 sq cms and a thickness of less than 1.5 cms so that the pieces are smaller than the smallest length required for a root to emerge into a new plant. The process ensures that the material cannot dry out as the vegetative propagules die if it does. The material is formed into the pieces without being stockpiled or previously stored and without freezing.

Method for vegetative propagation of plants

Described is a method for stimulating vegetative propagation of a potato tuber by exposing a potato tuber to an composition comprising oxytocin and / or a fragment and / or variant of oxytocin possessing oxytocin activity, wherein the exposure of the oxytocin and / or said fragment and / or variant of oxytocin possessing oxytocin activity stimulates the formation and / or growth of at least one potato tuber.
