Venoms from animals of the order Scorpionida of the class Arachnida. They contain neuro- and hemotoxins, enzymes, and various other factors that may release acetylcholine and catecholamines from nerve endings. Of the several protein toxins that have been characterized, most are immunogenic.

Method for detecting scorpion venom-induced cardiotoxicity by fusing metabonomics and ultrasonic electrocardiogram

The invention discloses a method for detecting scorpion venom-induced cardiotoxicity by fusing metabonomics and an ultrasonic electrocardiogram, the ultrasonic electrocardiogram proves that scorpion venom has cardiotoxicity, then the change of metabolites related to cardiotoxicity is researched through serum metabonomics, and 37 different metabolites are screened out. The kit can find potential damage of scorpion venom to the heart at an early stage, has relatively high sensitivity and specificity, solves the technical problems of high sampling difficulty in traditional pathology, low sensitivity, poor specificity and long period of conventional markers, remarkably improves the timeliness and reliability of scorpion venom cardiotoxicity prediction, and has a good application prospect. And a scientific basis is provided for subsequent preclinical safety evaluation and clinical medication monitoring of scorpion venom preparations.

Medicine for treating diabetic retinopathy and application of scorpion venom heat-resistant synthetic peptide in treating diabetic retinopathy

The invention discloses a medicine for treating diabetic retinopathy and application of scorpion venom heat-resistant synthetic peptide in treating the disease, belongs to the field of research and development of polypeptide medicines, and is used for treating or preventing the diabetic retinopathy (DR). Experimental results show that the scorpion venom heat-resistant synthetic peptide (SVHRSP) has the effect of preventing and treating diabetic retinopathy (DR) on a streptozotocin (STZ)-induced mouse experimental diabetes model, and can repress retinal function impairment caused by impairment of streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mouse retinal photoreceptor cells and retinal nerve inner layer cells; and retina structure damage caused by thinning of the retina thickness of a diabetic mouse induced by STZ (streptozotocin) is inhibited.

Application of scorpion venom polypeptide BmK AS in the treatment of chronic epilepsy

PendingCN122272766ASeizure frequencyEpilepsy seizure
This invention discloses the application of the scorpion venom polypeptide BmK AS in the treatment of chronic epilepsy. BmK AS exerts potent anti-epileptic and neuroprotective effects through a confluence mechanism. In a lycine-induced mouse model, BmK AS significantly shortened seizure duration, reduced seizure frequency, prolonged seizure latency, and improved cognitive and mental outcomes. Electrophysiologically, BmK AS nonlinearly inhibited multiple VGSC subtypes, with a particularly significant effect on Nav1.6, reducing peak sodium current by 43% at a concentration of 5 nM. Furthermore, BmK AS alleviated hippocampal neuroinflammation by inhibiting the NLRP1 inflammasome pathway and related pyroptosis. This invention establishes BmK AS as a promising multi-mechanism therapeutic candidate, highlighting the value of a dual therapeutic strategy of Nav1.6 blockade and neuroinflammation suppression for epilepsy treatment.

New venom polypeptide-dendrimer complex, and preparation method therefor and use thereof

PCT designated stageWO2026174646A1DendrimerLysosome
Provided are a new venom polypeptide-dendrimer complex, and a preparation method therefor and the use thereof. Specifically, provided is a scorpion venom polypeptide, wherein the amino acid sequence of the scorpion venom polypeptide is FLGGLLSSIF. A new scorpion venom polypeptide (designated as C9) is isolated and identified. Moreover, a new polypeptide-polyamidoamine dendrimer complex G5C9 (i.e., nanoparticles) having a glioblastoma (GBM)-targeting effect is constructed. Compared with polypeptide C9, G5C9 exhibits significantly improved cellular uptake efficiency. G5C9 can enter cells via endocytosis and targets lysosomes, and inhibits lysosomal function and mTORC1, thereby promoting nuclear translocation of TFEB and further inducing autophagic cell death. Therefore, G5C9 provides a new targeted anti-GBM approach both in vitro and in vivo.

Scorpion venom freeze-drying device and whole scorpion wine production method

The application discloses a scorpion venom freeze-drying device and belongs to the field of medicinal liquor production. The device comprises a freezing box, a containing box connected in the freezing box, a refrigeration sheet arranged at the bottom of the containing box, a planing frame horizontally and slidably connected to the upper end of the containing box, and a planing blade connected to the planing frame. A rectangular plate is vertically and slidably connected to the bottom of the containing box. When the rectangular plate moves upwards, the frozen scorpion venom is pushed upwards. When the frozen scorpion venom moves upwards, the planing frame moves horizontally and reciprocally, so that the planing blade planes the frozen scorpion venom into ice chips. After the scorpion venom is frozen, the freezing box is vacuumized, the rectangular plate is controlled to move upwards, and the planing frame is controlled to move horizontally and reciprocally. When the frozen scorpion venom is pushed upwards by the rectangular plate, the planing blade connected to the planing frame that moves horizontally and reciprocally planes the lifted frozen scorpion venom into ice chips, improves the surface area, and thus the sublimation speed of the water in the subsequent ice chips is improved.
