This invention relates to the field of oil and gas
field development technology, specifically to a soluble water-finding tool and method for
horizontal wells. The soluble water-finding tool for
horizontal wells includes a packer and a pressure and flow
measurement device. The packer includes a central tube, a rubber sleeve
assembly, a locking
assembly, and a
piston cylinder. The locking
assembly includes a locking sleeve, a soluble locking ring seat, and a locking ring. The locking sleeve has a window for exposing the soluble locking ring seat. The locking ring and locking sleeve are unidirectionally slidingly connected, so that after the
working fluid is pressurized inside the central tube, the
piston cylinder slides and pushes the locking sleeve to compress the rubber sleeve assembly for expansion and sealing. The pressure and flow
measurement device is connected to the packer and is used to test the pressure and flow rate of the well fluid in the formation. This invention utilizes the fact that after the packer enters the well, the soluble locking ring seat begins to contact the well fluid and gradually dissolves, causing the locking ring to detach from the locking sleeve, allowing the packer to automatically unseal. This meets various requirements for pressure and flow measurement in
horizontal wells, reduces the possibility of stuck
pipe, and helps to accurately determine the water-producing formation.
