The method comprises the steps of collecting sun illumination signals by virtue of a photosensitive diode integrated sensor, processing the collected signals by virtue of an LM339N chip, carrying out logical operation by virtue of STC90C516RD+, and finally acquiring the vertical incident direction of the sunshine, wherein the photosensitive diode integrated sensor is produced by embedding a plurality of photosensitive diodes into a black hemisphere shell. According to the technical scheme, the vertical incident direction of the output sunshine is represented by a direction of a spatial vector gamma (-x, -y, -z) with modulus of 1. The design scheme has the beneficial effects that the cost is low, the system design is simple, and the stability is relatively strong; and by increasing the number of the photosensitive diodes embedded into the photosensitive diode integrated sensor, the requirement on the detection precision of the vertical incident direction of the sunshine can be met. According to the design scheme, a sun tracking system with changeable tracking precision can be produced.
