Q-chip MEMS magnetic device

A Q-Chip MEMS magnetic device comprises a thin-film electronic circuit for implantation in the Track-2 area of a magnetic stripe on the back of a credit card. The Q-Chip MEMS magnetic device periodically self-generates new sub-sets of magnetic data that are to be read in combination with other magnetic data that is permanently recorded in the surrounding surface of the magnetic stripe. A collocated battery and microcontroller provide operating power and new data for magnetic bit updates. A swipe sensor triggers such updates by sensing electrical contact with a legacy card reader. Several thin-film coils of wire are wound end-to-end around a common, flat, ferrous core. These are driven by the microcontroller. In one instance, such core comprises “hard” magnetic material with a coercivity of 200-300 Oersteds. Magnetic data written from the corresponding adjacent coils will persist for later readings by a legacy card reader. In another instance, the core comprises “soft” magnetic material with a coercivity of about one Oersted. A media stripe of “hard” magnetic film material overlays respective coils to receive magnetic data transfers. Magnetic data written from the corresponding adjacent coils will persist in the overlaying hard media for later readings by a legacy card reader. In a data input mode, the thin-film coils can be used as readers to provide updates and new programming to the microcontroller.

Single shell-pass or multiple shell-pass shell-and-tube heat exchanger with helical baffles

The present invention provides a single shell-pass shell-and-tube heat exchanger with helical baffles, where within a single pitch, the helical baffles are separated into inner and outer parts along the radial direction of the shell. In the central portion of the inner space of the shell, an inner non-continuous helical form is employed; in other portion outside the central portion, doughnut shaped helical baffles with continuous curved surfaces are arranged to form an outer continuous helical baffle, and the outer helical baffles are arranged to surround the inner helical baffles. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a multiple shell-pass shell-and-tube heat exchanger with helical baffles, in which complete continuous helical baffles are provided in shell-sides other than the inner shell-pass, while non-continuous helical baffles or other flow guide means are employed in the inner shell-pass. The present invention makes flow patterns of fluids on the shell side more desirable, leading to a reduced flow pressure drop, and mitigate fouling, thus the heat transfer rate is improved and the service life of the heat exchanger is increased. The present invention also provides two methods for manufacture of continuous helical baffles, which ensure the concentricity of the tube bundle holes on each continuous helical baffle so as to facilitate installation of heat exchange tube bundles.

Method for purifying exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine

A method for purifying the exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine, which is operated under lambda-based closed loop control and which has an exhaust gas tract in which is located a catalytic converter, is provided. According to this method, a pre-converter lambda value for the exhaust gas is continuously sensed upstream of the catalytic converter, from which a pre-converter lambda signal is generated, and this pre-converter lambda signal is used as the reference variable for the lambda control loop. A post-converter lambda value for the exhaust gas is continuously sensed downstream from the converter, from which a post-converter lambda signal is generated, this being a monotonically decreasing function of the lambda value for the exhaust gas downstream from the catalytic converter. The post-converter lambda signal is used in a trimming control loop to apply a correction to the lambda control loop, whereby a measurement signal is generated which, at least below a certain value of lambda close to lambda=1, is a strictly monotonically increasing or monotonically decreasing function of the lambda value for the exhaust gas downstream from the catalytic converter. For levels of the post-converter lambda signal which are above a threshold value, this supplementary measurement signal is used for trimming control. For levels of the post-converter lambda signal which are below the threshold value, the post-converter lambda signal itself is used for trimming control.

The alcohol-soluble nylon is added into equipment and is dissolved by the mixed solvent into an intermediate semi-finished product, and the epoxy resin and a certain proportion of lubricant are added for modification and reaction so as to obtain the product. As the epoxy resin with high molecular weight, high softening point and good humidity resistance is taken as the cooperative modified resin of the alcohol-soluble nylon, and a proper proportion of a lubricant and the mixed solvent with gradually steady evaporation property are added for cooperation, so that the wet bonding resistance of the enameled wire self-bonded paint is greatly improved; the prepared product has good homogeneity and storage stability; and chemical components of low chemical activity are adopted for cooperation, so that the production requirement of the product in production process is lowered, and the property of the product is more stable.
