The invention provides a converter shell mounting method capable of reducing overhead operation and improving mounting precision. The converter shell mounting method comprises the following steps: selecting a lifting device and side columns, and mounting a tool; then splicing a shell assembly annular band on a shell foundation, and mounting an expansion ring in the shell assembly annular band after finishing splicing; then, through lifting the expansion ring through the lifting device, lifting the shell assembly annular band to a position that the distance between the lower edge of the shell assembly annular band and the shell foundation meets the requirement of mounting the next circle of shell annular band; then, splicing the next circle of shell assembly annular band, and finishing the connection of the upper and lower two circles of shell assembly annular bands; and then, moving the expansion ring into the next circle of shell assembly annular band, repeating the steps, finishing the mounting of all shell assembly rings except the tail circle, and directly splicing the tail circle of shell assembly ring on the shell foundation. Through adopting the converter shell mounting method, the mounting precision of the shell can be ensured, overhead operation can be reduced, the construction period can be shortened, and the construction cost can be reduced.
