Also called "devil weed", this species has invaded the Eastern Pacific, beginning in Baja California and advancing north along the California coastline.

A preparation method of the enzymolysis-modified sargassum horneri polysaccharide comprises steps as follows: (1) performing microwave extraction on a sargassum horneri polysaccharide to obtain a coarse polysaccharide extract; (2) performing grading alcohol precipitation: performing precipitation on the coarse polysaccharide extract with the final ethanol volume fraction of 30-40% and 55-65% successively to obtain an SHP60 coarse polysaccharide component; (3) performing decolorization and deproteinization on the SHP60 coarse polysaccharide component to obtain an SHPA polysaccharide; (4) performing enzymolysis on the SHPA polysaccharide with a dextranase to obtain an enzymatic product; (5) performing ion column chromatography on the enzymatic product with a DEAE-Sepharose Fast Flow ion column chromatography system, and concentrating and filtering an eluent to obtain a filtrate; (6) performing gel column chromatography on the filtrate obtained in Step (5) with a Sephadex G-25 gel chromatography system, collecting a salt-free polysaccharide part, and performing concentration and freeze-drying to obtain the enzymolysis-modified sargassum horneri polysaccharide. The enzymolysis-modified sargassum horneri polysaccharide can be applied to preparation of an antioxidant, a moisture absorbent and a moisturizer.

An extraction method for sargassum horneri polyphenol is characterized by comprising: A, taking sargassum horneri as a raw material, crushing sargassum horneri, and sieving by using a 25-35 mesh sieve, so as to obtain a uniform sargassum horneri powder; B, accurately weighing a certain amount of sargassum horneri powder, adding an organic solvent aqueous solution with the concentration of 40%-90% according to the material-solution ratio of 1:9-11 (w/v), and fully uniformly mixing and immersing; C, immersing for 10-15 min, and using a supersonic-wave cell crushing machine to crush for 5-10 min to perform extraction of polyphenol; D, performing centrifugal processing on the extraction liquid, and controlling the processing technology of 3500-4500 rpm and 4-6 min; E, repeatedly extracting for 4-6 times, and merging the supernatants; and F, performing 45 DEG C evaporation concentration on the supernatant by a rotary evaporator, and then performing vacuum freeze drying, so as to obtain the sargassum horneri polyphenol extractive.
