The invention relates to a fabrication method of a high-capacity lithium iron phosphate battery for an automobile. The method comprises the steps of (1) fabricating positive pole pieces of the battery, (2) conducting drying, rolling, slitting and die cutting on the positive pole pieces, and laminating the positive pole pieces with negative pole pieces to be fabricated into a battery cell, (3) drying the battery cell, loading the battery cell into a plastic housing, packaging and detecting leakage, (4) vacuumizing the packaged and dried battery, injecting liquid and placing the battery, and (5) conducting precharge, high temperature ageing and formation on the battery to obtain the finished battery, wherein liquid injection holes are formed at the top end of the plastic housing, and safety valves are mounted on the liquid injection holes. The method is simple in technology and low in cost, the obtained lithium ion battery has the advantages of uniform temperature distribution, small internal resistance, no internal stress, good rate discharge, good safety, and the like, and the method has a good application prospect.
