Such elements can operate in reflection (bandstop) or transmission (bandpass) modes, and can be arranged in one-dimensional or two-dimensional arrays, or operated as single units, and their spectral regions are controlled by the element design. Input electromagnetic radiation illuminates the element and is then filtered, modulated, analyzed or tuned by the element. The β-trefoil protein human fibroblast growth factor-1 (FGF-1) is made up of a six-stranded anti-parallel β-barrel closed off on one end by three β-hairpins, thus exhibiting a three-fold axis of structural symmetry. The N- and C-termini β-strands hydrogen bond to each other and are postulated from both NMR and X-ray structure data to represent a structurally-weakened region of the β-barrel. Val mutations within the N- and C-termini β-strands are shown to stabilize the structure and to increase van der Waals contacts by filling local cavities present within this region. Mutations that increase van der Waals contacts between both the N- and C-termini β-strands are generally associated with significant reductions in the unfolding kinetics, and also increase the cooperativity of unfolding. Surprisingly, several mutant polypeptides herein disclosed greatly exceed the wild-type polypeptide in ability to stimulate human fibroblasts to proliferate.

The polarization maintaining optical fibre large-size composite optical fibre preform and the preparation technological method lead the wire-drawing condition to be stable and controllable, and the drawn polarization maintaining optical fibre has excellent mechanical property and can pass the tension screening of 1 percent, even 2 percent; the preform with large diameter and large length is used for producing the polarization maintaining optical fibre; the wire-drawing length of a single preform reaches to be more than 200km, even more than 100km; and the production efficiency of the optical fibre is high. The drawn optical fibre structure has good symmetry and lengthwise uniformity and is easy to control.

In addition, the width of the common shield electrode 110B is equivalent to that of the wide pixel comb electrode 109B, and the concentration of an electric field in the vicinity of each pixel comb electrode is reduced. The scissors type hexagonal-prism-shaped extensible unit is a single-freedom-degree over-constrained hexagonal-prism-shaped basic extensible unit and comprises twelve faceplates, six groups of scissors type folding rods, and twelve groups of folding connecting rods. One group of folding connecting rods limits the extending degree of the basic extensible unit by the connecting rod lengths and the other eleven groups of folding connecting rods are over-constrained folding connecting rods, so that the rigidity of the basic extensible unit is improved effectively. Multiple basic extensible units are arranged closely and the adjacent basic extensible units can form a space extensible mechanism by sharing four faceplates, one group of scissors type folding rods and two groups of folding connecting rods; and the size of the pace extensible mechanism can be changed by changing the number of basic extensible units. The provided scissors type hexagonal-prism-shaped extensible unit has high structural symmetry; and different large-dimension space extensible mechanisms can be formed based on assembling of the multiple extensible units. Quadrature ring-type piezoelectric accelerometer

The present invention provides a piezoelectric accelerometer. The sensitive components are arranged axisymmetrically; the piezoelectric accelerometer comprises four flexible arms, a quality block and a base; the flexible arms are folded and shaped like a ring or an arc; any two of the flexible arms are arranged opposite to the other two so as to form an orthogonal annular symmetric structure which connects the quality block and the base; and the flexible arms are made of piezoelectric material or the piezoelectric sheets are symmetrically pasted on the flexible arms. The accelerometer can perform the three-axis measurement, and because of the structural symmetry, when the axial acceleration is measured, the response of the transverse acceleration can be reduced; when the transverse acceleration is measured, the response of the axial acceleration can be reduced; therefore, the interference between the channels is inhibited to the lowest degree. The three-way accelerometer has the characteristics of high sensitivity, small transverse interference and simple manufacturing process, and can be used in the industrial production, the scientific research and the national defense field.

The invention provides a micro machining method for bulk silicon for forming a cavity structure of an MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems) thermopile detector. The method comprises the following steps of: providing a silicon substrate, growing a silica membrane on the silicon substrate in a thermal oxidation manner, and forming a thermopile area and an infrared absorption area on the silica membrane. A thermal nodal area is arranged at one end of the thermopile area, close to the infrared absorption area, and a cold nodal area is arranged at the other end of the thermopile area, far away from the infrared absorption area. A silicon nitride and silica compound membrane structure is deposited on a thermopile structure layer, and a corrosion opening is formed in a compound membrane through photoetching. A release channel of the thermopile structure is formed by the corrosion opening. Through the release channel, a superficial layer on the surface of the bulk silicon is corroded by using an isotropy corrosion method so as to form a thin cavity of the superficial layer of the bulk silicon, and a bulk silicon deep layer below the thin cavity is corroded by using an anisotropy corrosion method so as to form a regular smooth ladder-shaped cavity structure, and therefore, the cavity structure in the bulk silicon is finally formed. The cavity structure formed by using the method has a regular and smooth inner surface and is good in structure symmetry.
