The invention discloses a fire extinguishing agent, which is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 100 parts of ammonium polyphosphate, 15-20 parts of potassium sulphate, 15-20 parts of sodium bicarbonate, 5-10 parts of magnesium chloride, 5-10 parts of mica, 10-15 parts of silicone oil, 5-10 parts of activated clay, 5-8 parts of red phosphorus, 5-10 parts of zinc borate, 5-10 parts of antimonous oxide and 5-15 parts of white carbon black. The fire extinguishing agent is compounded by multiple components, thus, type-A fire, type-B fire, type-C fire and type-D fire can be extinguished at the same time. Moreover, a flame retardant component is left on an extinguished object after the fire is extinguished so as to avoid resurgence. As all the raw materials are environmental protection materials, the fire extinguishing agent disclosed by the invention has no toxin, smell, pollution or radiation, and harmful gas cannot be generated when the fire is extinguished. After the fire extinguishing agent is sprayed onto a burning object when the fire is extinguished, smoke can be eliminated and toxic gas can be adsorbed so as to prevent the condition that people are suffocated from occurring as possible.
