The invention discloses a
Chinese cinnamon and lemon grass interplanting method for a hillside
woodland. The method comprises the steps: deeply plowing a
woodland to be planted, removing miscellaneoustrees, weeds and stone blocks, applying an
organic fertilizer according to the dosage of 1,200kg / mu, then, reclaiming soil for cultivation, and carrying out standing for half a month, so as to obtainthe
woodland to be planted; planting
Chinese cinnamon in accordance with requirements that the row spacing is 2m-3m and the
plant spacing is 2m-2.5m, and interplanting lemon grass in the
Chinese cinnamon woodland, wherein the Chinese cinnamon and the lemon grass are planted in a staggered manner, and the lemon grass is apart from Chinese cinnamon planting rows by 40cm to 50cm;
transplanting lemongrass seedlings to the woodland in October to November per year, and starting to transplant Chinese cinnamon seedlings in February to March of the ensuing year when the
plant height of the lemon grass is 1.2m or more; and harvesting the lemon grass one month after
transplantation of the Chinese cinnamon seedlings, and then, carrying out water and
fertilizer management. According to the method, through employing a Chinese cinnamon and lemon grass interplanting mode, the area of vacant field after Chinese cinnamon
afforestation can be fully utilized, and weeds are prevented from propagating; odors emitted from the lemon grass also exert the effect of preventing and treating diseases and insects; and the lemon grass is high in
vitality and developed in roots and also has the effects of preserving
moisture and
fertility, protecting slopes and controlling loss of soil and water.
