The invention provides an ethylenediamine-modified peach kernel cationic adsorbent and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: crushing washed peach kernels, sieving to obtain powder with the particle size of 50-60 meshes, drying the powder for 24h at 90 DEG C in a drying box, washing for 1h by using sodium hydroxide with the concentration of 0.1 mol/L,washing by water till a neutral state, then drying at 50 DEG C in the drying box, then chemically etherifying the peach kernel powder by using epichlorohydrin, carrying out a reaction for 5h in an alkali epichlorohydrin solution while heating in a water bath with the temperature of 50 DEG C, washing by water till a neutral state is reached, drying overnight at 50 DEG C, finally modifying the etherified peach kernel powder by using ethylenediamine, washing by water till a neutral state is reached, then drying at 50 DEG C to obtain the modified peach kernel cationic adsorbent. Compared with other adsorbents, the ethylenediamine-modified peach kernel cationic adsorbent has the advantages of higher selectivity, a very high anionic pigment removing rate, large adsorption capacity and secondaryrecyclability; in addition, a peach kernel raw material is wide in source and low in price; the ethylenediamine-modified peach kernel cationic adsorbent can be applied to pigment wastewater treatmentin printing and dyeing, food processing and other industries.
