The invention discloses a 
graphite purifying method. The 
graphite purifying method comprises the following steps that 
graphite and 
sodium hydroxide are placed into a 
crucible together, deionized wateris added and stirred to be uniform by using a glass rod; and the 
crucible is placed in a chamber electric resistance furnace to be roasted, after the 
crucible is naturally cooled, the graphite in thecrucible is poured into a 
beaker, the deionized water is added to wash the graphite, till the graphite is neutral, 
hydrochloric acid is added to react for a period of time, then the deionized water is utilized for washing the graphite to be neutral, and the purified graphite can be obtained after complete 
drying is conducted. The graphite purifying method firstly adopts 
sodium hydroxide to be subjected to a 
chemical reaction with graphite under the heating condition, the impurities such as 
silicate and 
aluminosilicate in the graphite are removed, a compound being 
water soluble is generated, and impurities in the graphite are removed after the compound is washed. 
Hydrochloric acid is utilized to remove 
basic oxide impurities in the graphite, the method is simple, and convenient to operate,the graphite purifying and production efficiency is high, the requirement to the equipment is low, the 
pollution to the environment is less, and the graphite purifying method has the extremely high practical popularization value.
